The weather has really bugged us for a few days now and today was more of the same… very cold with an icy wind which persisted the whole day. Unfortunately this resulted in very few sightings except for the undoubted highlight of our day – a pair of mating lions close to Nyalazi Gate soon after we entered the Park. The male was not very happy with us for invading his privacy during his “happy hour” and made this very clear to us with a mock charge. After that things got very quiet although we did spot a bull elephant at Umganu during lunch. We still enjoyed our day though, it’s just that some days you have to settle for less animals and focus on the beautiful surroundings.
