Some days when you enter the Park you just know it’s going to be a cracker. Well, we had that feeling this morning and we certainly were not disappointed !! At the main Black Umfolozi bridge we had a pride of 14 lions ( including 5 cubs ) sitting in the river bed no more than 30 meters from our vehicle. It was a magnificent sighting and we enjoyed them all to ourselves until the word got out and the heavy traffic arrived. Later on during the morning we had an equally good sighting with a pack of wild dogs between markers 20 and 21 in the south of the Park. They alternated between sleeping and playing and we eventually left them in that state after 45 minutes. There were also good elephant, rhino and buffalo sightings on offer but giraffes and wildebeest were scarce.
