EuroZulu Guided Tours & Safaris Hluhluwe / Umfolozi : Friday 21 November 2014

Today was one of those stop start days which never really seemed to get going. The weather was perfect – overcast and warm, and yet the Park was eerily quiet. There was no sign of the lions which have graced us with their presence over the past few days but there was a wild dog sighting at Bhejane Hide. On the up side there were plenty of rhinos to be seen, including two black rhino sightings. Just when we thought that all the giraffes in the Park had gone on leave we came across a sizeable herd between markers 12 & 28 in the south. Strangely enough, there have been very few wildebeest around recently, which is difficult to understand. It’s been great to see so many new born animals around, especially the warthogs – they’re so comical and entertaining as they dart around, not seeming to know what they should be doing or where they should be going !!
