We headed straight for marker 27 ( the White Umfolozi river ) early this morning and were rewarded with a good view of 2 lions sitting in the river bed with a herd of elephants nearby. This proved to be the only lion sighting of the day as the temperature soared to over 40 degrees just after 11h00. Sightings pretty much came to a halt at that point except for a couple of elephant herds at the various river crossings. General game before the heat of the day was abundant, especially giraffes. There were plenty of white rhinos on display and we were also treated to two separate black rhino sightings.
