Weather: Rain throughout the whole day, at it’s heaviest ( of course !! ) whilst we were trying to braai for lunch at Mpila. At least it was fairly humid as well, rather that than cold and wet.

Despite the weather we had a good day with wild dog, elephant and cheetah sightings as well as buffalo, Rhino and some interesting birds on show. The weather had the last laugh though – the Umfolozi bridge was under water from 11h00 until 16h30 and we had to return to St. Lucia via Melmoth / Empangeni, a 4 hour versus the normal one hour trip!

Umfolozi Big Five sightings: Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo…. and cheetah & wild dogs.

Hluhluwe Big Five sightings: Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo.

General Game: Warthog, Zebra, Baboon, Giraffe, Wildebeest etc.
