Weather : Cool for the first hour then progressively warm reaching 32 deg just before noon.

A good day in Africa today…. wild dogs and hyenas near view point 17 around 7.30 a.m. and then 4 lionesses and 1 male lion lying near the road near marker 25 in the south. Just a few isolated bull elephants today and, to all of of our concern, not one single rhino to be seen. These animals have been extremely scarce recently… a really big worry given how they are being slaughtered in our country.

Umfolozi Big Five sightings : Lion, Elephant, Buffalo, Rhino….. and wild dogs.

Hluhluwe Big Five sightings : Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo.

General Game : Warthog, Wildebeest, Baboon, Zebra, Giraffe etc.
