EuroZulu Wildlife Diary – Wednesday 15 May 2013

Weather : A cold start to the day with an icy wind to make matters worse. It did become warmer later and the wind dropped to a gentle breeze.

Highlight of the day was a huge breeding herd of elephants near Mphafa hide in the south. Tragically there was a baby elephant which appeared to be lame or paralyzed in the back legs and Mom had to push it along with her trunk. No cats to be seen today but we did have good rhino and buffalo sightings as well as an excellent sighting of a martial eagle.

Umfolozi Big Five sightings : Elephant, Buffalo, Rhino.

Hluhluwe Big Five sightings : Elephant, Buffalo, Rhino.

General Game : Antelope, Warthog, Wildebeest, Giraffe etc.
