Beautiful weather today and magnificent morning light for the photographers on board our vehicle…but, we again discovered that early morning in Africa is much colder than some people think !! After a quiet start to the day we found 6 lazy lions relaxing in the river bed near the main Umfolozi bridge. A river bed is ideal resting place for lions because they keep cool from the water below the sand whilst at the same time, enjoying warmth from the sun above ! At lunch we were treated to two bull elephants cavorting in the water near the Umganu picnic site. The general game was excellent today with good zebra, giraffe, wildebeest and bird sightings. How can one not enjoy that ??!!
