Hot, dry & windy were the weather key words today out there, the temperature reached 32 celcius at midday !! Despite the heat we had a great sighting of a big lion strolling down the road next to our vehicle near marker 26 in the south. A few minutes before that, almost at the same place a pair of hyenas seemed to be on a hunting / scavenging expedition as they headed off into the bush towards some unsuspecting impalas. There was also a lion sighting near marker 17 in the south and towards mid morning we were treated to a large herd of elephants playing in the river at the 2nd view point along Sontuli loop. General game was again scarce today, possibly because large tracts of the Park are being burnt at the moment.
