Today dawned overcast and showery in the Park and that pattern continued throughout the day. The weather seemed to have an effect on the animals as well because it was a very quiet beginning to the day, until a couple of wild dogs made an appearance near Umganu picnic site in the south of the Park. They disappeared off into the bush after a half an hour. A little later , near viewpoint 17 a cheetah mom with 4 cubs were spotted. There were sporadic elephant and buffalo sightings during the morning and it was good to see so many rhinos around again. General game was prolific today, especially from Nyalazi gate to the main Umfolozi bridge, probably due to the excellent grazing after the recent burns and good rain. There was also a reported sighting of a leopard crossing the corridor road near Nyalazi gate.
