We can’t complain about our weekend !! Although it was a quiet Saturday and an eventful Sunday, taken as a whole it was well above par !! Our highpoint of the weekend was a pride of 14 lions ( including 5 cubs ) chilling out right inside the Umbondwe picnic site just after we entered the Park on Sunday morning. We were the only vehicle there at the time and we had these beautiful cats all to ourselves until the traffic started to arrive about 45 minutes later. The sighting of a lifetime !! A little earlier we were treated to a sight of 4 hyenas strolling down the road in front of our vehicle near Le Dube in the north of the Park. There were enough elephants dotted around the south of the Park over the weekend to satisfy the needs of the fans of pachyderms and the general game on display was an improvement over recent days. There was a reported cheetah sighting on Sontuli loop on Sunday, but no signs of the wild dogs that graced us with their presence on Friday.
